Self-Hosted NAS Server

I started from a simple observation: online subscriptions are expensive. Between Google storage and streaming platforms, I was spending dozens of euros every month.

So I built my own NAS from a recycled Dell OptiPlex, running TrueNAS and Docker. On it, I deploy:

  • Nextcloud & Vaultwarden: to manage my files and passwords, fully secured and under my control.

  • Immich: to organize and back up my photos automatically, like a self-hosted Google Photos.

  • Jellyfin/Jellyseer + Radarr/Sonarr/Prowlarr: to manage my movies and series, with automation worthy of major streaming platforms (legality included… well, almost 😇).

And thanks to Cloudflare Tunnels, I can securely access all this content from anywhere in the world, without a VPN and without exposing my home network directly to the Internet.

The result: no more costly subscriptions, full sovereignty over my data, and a home “mini-datacenter” that is both practical and economical.
